Valentine's Day

Well its that day, that month, of the year…. Yes its Valentine’s Day people. Im sure lots of people have plans and all and some may spend the very evening alone (shouting to all singles out there). Well whatever happens, it may be a special day for couples or just another Tuesday.
Here are some history on the very existence of Valentine’s Day

Saint Valentine’s Day, often simply Valentine’s Day, is a holiday observed on February 14 honoring one or more early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine. It was first established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD, and was later deleted from the General Roman Calendar of saints in 1969 by Pope Paul VI. No romantic elements are present in the original early medieval biographies of either of these martyrs.

It is celebrated in hundreds of countries around the world, mostly in the West, although it remains a working day in all of them. The day first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

By the 15th century, it had evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as “valentines”).

Modern Valentine’s Day symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-produced greeting cards.

Im very sure the modern couples have creative and innovative ways of celebrating the precious day. Here are some of the common stuff they all do

1. Buy chocolates and flowers. Im not sure why but they have a fond interest in the idea which have been passed down for generations.

2. Plan the perfect dinner. Yes. The guys tend to go all out in trying to get it right and impress the girl. They may even start saving money months before the event just to make it special.

3. Surprise the girl at stroke of midnight. Well, again its the guys planning that surprise thingy maybe with by playing a song or singing by the lake side watching the stars or maybe pure crazy surprise by spraying foam and sprinkles all over.

4. Last but not least, they may very well with an estimation of over 99.99999 % skip class or work that day or maybe its just the guys trying to plan for the nite.

Well, all in all, the norm is, its the guys doing all the hardwork and girls will get to enjoy the day.

Here are some of the Valentine’s Day mood videos… enjoy..=D
